βασιλεῖ Πτολεμαίωι χαίρειν Λίβυς, ναύκληρος τοῦ Ἀρχιδάμου καὶ Μητροφάνους κερκούρου ἀγωγῆς μυριὰς α. ἔχοντός μου ἐπιστολὰς εἰς τὴν Θηβαίδα, συνέβη, γενομένου χειμῶνος κατὰ Ἀφροδίτης πόλιν, τοῦ πλοίου πονήσαιπονέσαι τὴν κεραίαν, ὥστε μηκέτι δυνατὸν εἶναί με ἀνακομισθῆναι οὗ τὰς ἐπι στολὰς ἐκόμιζον· παρὰ τὸ δὲ σύνεγγυς εἶναι τὸν Ἀρσινοίτην, σχόντες πολλὰ πράγματα μόγις ἕλκοντες τὸ πλοῖον ἠγάγομεν ἐπὶ τὸν ὅρμον τοῦ Ἀρσινοίτου, παρὰ τὸ μὴ δύνασθαι τοῖς ἱστίοις ἔτι χρᾶσθαι. ἵνα οὖν μὴ καταφθα ρῶμεν ἐνταῦθα, ἐθισμοῦ ὄντος, ἐάν τισιν τῶν ναυκλήρων τοιοῦτό τι συμβῆι, ἐμφανίζειν τοῖς ἐπὶ τῶν τόπων στρατηγοῖς, ὅπως ἂν μὴ κατα φθείρηται τὰ πλοῖα ἐπὶ τῶν τόπων καὶ διαφορὰ τῆι καταγωγῆι τοῦ σίτου γίνηται, ἀλλὰ γεμίζηται ἐπὶ ταῖς δεδομέναις αὐτοῖς ἐπιστολαῖς ἐκ τῆς πόλεως, δέομαί οὖν σου, βασιλεῦ, προστάξαι Διοφάνει τῶι στρατηγῶι ἐπισκέ ψασθαι περὶ τούτων καί, ἐὰν ἦι ἃ γράφω ἀληθῆ, συντάξαι Εὐφράνορι τῶι σιτολόγωι τῆς κάτω μερίδος γεμίσαι τὸ πλοῖον ἐπὶ ταῖς προυπαρχούσαις ἐπιστολαῖς ἐκ τῶν καθʼ αὑτὸν τόπων τὴν ταχίστην παρὰ τὸ μέγα εἶναι τὸ πλοῖον καὶ μή, τοῦ ὕδατος ἀναχωροῦντος, μηδὲ κενὸν τὸ πλοῖον δυνατὸν ἦι κομισθῆναι εἰς τὴν πόλιν, ἀλλὰ διὰ σέ, βασιλεῦ, τύχωμεν τοῦ εὐτύχει. β ὀμνύω βασιλέα Πτολεμαῖον καὶ βασίλισσαν Βερενίκην καὶ Σαρᾶπιν καὶ Ἶσιν καὶ ἔτους κε, Λώιου κϛ, Χοίαχ ιγ.
