Die Mutter grüßt ihren Sohn [Hêge]lochos . Ich ging zu später Stunde zu dem Veteranen Serapiôn und fragte ihn, wie es dir und deinen Kindern geht. Da sagte er mir, du hättest einen schlimmen Fuß von einem Splitter, und ich wurde beunruhigt, daß du so übermäßig matt bist. Und als ich zu Serapiôn sagte: „ich gehe zusammen mit dir“, sagte er zu mir, dir ginge es nicht übermäßig schlecht. Wenn du aber dir bewußt bist, daß es dir noch schlimmer geht, so schreibe nur und ich komme hinunter und gehe mit irgendeinem, den ich finde. Vergiß nur, mein Kind, ja nicht mir zu schreiben, wie es dir geht, denn du weißt, wie man sich um ein Kind ängstigt. Deine Kinder grüßen dich. Aurelius Ptoleminos grüßt seinen Vater.
