Αὐρηλίωι Ἰουλίῳ Μαξίμωι δεκαδάρχῃἑκατοντάρχῳ παρὰ Ἰσιδώρας Ἀσκλᾶ ἀπὸ κώ μης Καρανίδος. τῇ ιβ τοῦ ὄν τος μηνὸς Παχὼν Πτολε μαῖος Ἰσχυρᾶ ἐπῆλθεν τῇ οἰκίᾳ μου καὶ τῶν στρα τευομένων μου ἀδελφῶν καὶ ἐβάσταξενἐβασταξαν πάντα ὅσα ἔχω οὐχ ἧττον ἀργυρίου δραχμῶν τετρακοσίων . ὅθεν ἐπιδίδωμι καὶ ἀξιῶ ἀχθῆναι αὐτὸν ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ τυχεῖν τῶν ἀπὸ σοῦ δικαίων. διευτύχει. ἔτους vestiges

Am 12. des gegenwärtigen Monats Pachôn kam Ptolemaios, der Sohn des Ischyras, zu meinem und meiner Militärdienst leistenden Brüder Haus und stahl alles, was ich habe, nicht weniger als vierhundert Silberdrachmen . Daher reiche ich (diese Eingabe) ein und ersuche darum, daß er Dir vorgeführt wird und daß (ich) von Dir Gerechtigkeit erfahre. Lebe wohl. Im [x.] Jahr .

To Aurelius Julius Maximus, decurio , from Isidora, daughter of Asklas from the village of Karanis. On 12th of the present month Pachon Ptolemaios, son of Ischyras, came up to the house of myself and my brothers, who serve in the army, and stole everything I have, at the value of not less than four hundred silver drachmas . Therefore I submit (this petition) and request that he be brought before you and that I may obtain justice from you. Farewell. Year [x – – –].
