τὸν σταβλίτην παραδέδωκα τοῖς ἀνασκάφοις νεωτέροις ἵνα τὸν ἵππον ὃν ἔλαβαν δώσωσιν αὐτῷ καὶ ἐπανέλθῃ μη ἐνέγκας αὐτόαὐτώ, καὶ νομίζω ὅτι τὸ μυστάριν ἤδη ἐσκότωσεν καὶ ἐκείνουςκἀκείνους. καταξιώσῃ οὖν πάντως πρὸ τοῦ τὰ ὕδατα κατακρατήσωσιν τὴν γῆν πέμψαι μοι αὐτόν, ἐπεί, ζῇ κύριος, ἐὰν συμβῇ αὐτῷ τί ποτε, παρέχεις τὴν τιμὴν αὐτοῦ. ἀπόλυσον δὲ πάντως Σερῆνον τὸν χαρτουλάριον καὶ τὸν ῥιπάριον καὶ τὸν μειζότερον, οὐδὲ γὰρ θέλω σε τοιοῦτό τί ποτε διαπράξασθαι. ἐδυνόμηνἐδεχόμην γὰρ καὶ ἐγὼκἀγὼ τοὺς ἐρχομένους ἀπὸ τῆς Κυνῶνἀπὸ Κυνῶν εἰς ὈξυρύγχωνὈξυρύγχον ποιῆσαι μηδὲ φανῆναι καὶ ὅμως οὐδὲν τοιοῦτο ἐποίησα. πέμψον δὲ ἐνταῦθα ἕνα τῶν χαρτουλαρίων ὀφείλοντα ποιῆσαι λογάριν πρὸς Ἀγρίππαν τὸν περίβλεπτον, ἵνα μάθωμεν τί χρεωστούμεθα παρʼ αὐτοῦ, ἐπειδὴ εἰς τὸ πρᾶγμα καθήμεθα. πάντως οὖν διὰ τῆς σήμερον πέμψον αὐτόν. δεσπότῃ τὰ πάντα λαμπροτάτῳ καὶ πάσης τιμῆς ἀξίῳ γνησίῳ ἀδελφῷ Γεωργίῳ διοικητῇ Βίκτωρ ἰλλούστριος σὺν θεῷ ἀντιγεοῦχος.
