τῷ ἀγαπητῷ καὶ θεοσεβεσ τάτῳ καὶ θεοφιλεῖθεοφιλῆ καὶ εὐλο γημένῳ πατρὶ Παπνουθίῳ Ἀμμώνιος ἐν κυρίῳ θεῷ χαίρειν. οἶδα μὲν ἀεὶ ὅτι διὰ τῶν ἁγί ων σου εὐχῶν σωθήσομαισωθήσομε ἀπὸ παντὸς πειρατηρίουπιρατηρίου τοῦ διαβόλου καὶ ἀπὸ πάσης ἐπι βουλίας ἀνθρώπων, καὶ νῦν παρακαλῶ ὅπως μνημονεύσῃς μου ἐν ταῖςτε͂ς ἁγίαις εὐχαῖςεὐχε͂ς σου· μετὰ γὰρ τὸν θεὸν ἡ σωτηρία μου εἶ σύ. ἀπήντησεν πρός με ὁ ἀδελφὸς ἡμῶν Δίδυμος ?, καὶ καθώςκαθός μοι εἶπας περὶ τοῦ πράγματος ἀπήντησα πρὸς αὐτόν. ἐρρῶσθαί σε εὔχομαιεὔχομε πολλοῖς χρόνοις, γλυκύτατε πάτερ· ὁ θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης διαφυλάξῃδιαφυλάξι σε ἐπὶ μή κιστον χρόνον. τῷ κυρίω ἀγαπητῷ πατρὶ Παπνουθίῳ
