EN scholarly · W.G. Claytor, BASP 50 (2013) 113
Ptolemais to her brother Papirianus, greetings. Talbaeis – as you instructed her about the house – she goes out and does what she wants, even if I tell her, “stay still!” ... was unable ... And so I write to you, sir, so that you know ... since (?) you went upcountry. As you instructed me about the money, “from which ... the wife of Pasion,” I collected one artaba from her. She said to me, “when your brother comes down, I’ll give the other one as well.” Zoilas did not give me money (?) for the bricks. He says, “they’re not dry,” and I went off to Onesimos. He did not find him: he’s with you in the city. Until today Talbaeis is out. If I say to her, “... here,” she takes no account of me and ... I was intending to drive her to the metropolis to you, (but) I couldn’t get her under my sway (?). I pray that you are well, brother.

About this record's data
  • From the source institution — accession, description, dimensions, and dating are as catalogued by Papyri.info — DDbDP (Duke Databank of Documentary Papyri) — text.
  • AI-inferred — the image-analysis panel (deities, names, signs) is machine-generated and may be wrong.
  • Approximate location — most map points are plotted at the site centroid, not the exact findspot.
  • Inferred links — cross-references marked with a match method other than explicit-source-field were matched by us, not stated by the source.
  • Inherited across the Trismegistos spine — a Trismegistos ID names one ancient text, and papyrology splits that text's description across databases: the edition in one, the date and provenance in another, the physical papyrus in a third. Fields tagged via … on this page were read from a sibling record under the same TM number, not asserted by Papyri.info — DDbDP (Duke Databank of Documentary Papyri) — text.
