Θεογίτων Ἀπολλωνίω χαίρειν. πάλινπάλειν γράφεινγράφιν σοι μαι φ τῶν ἔργων σου ισς μὴ εἰθισμένου μου τοῖς γράμμασι, καὶ νῦν οὖν πάλινπάλειν ἐπειράθηνἐπιράθην γράφεινγράφιν σοι πρὶν ἤ τι περαιότερον ἐγχει ρήσωἐνχιρήσω ποιεῖν, ἐάνπερ μὴ εὐ γνωμονῇςεὐγνομωνῇς τὰ πρὸς τὴν μη τέρα. πάνυ γάρ μοι δοκεῖς ἄφρων τις εἶναι τοῦ ὄντος μη νὸς μὴ φυλάσσεινφυλάσσιν τρ σου τὴν δε ξιάν, εἴπερ εἰ καὶ γράμματα μὴ ἦν ἀλλὰ τοῖς θεοῖς ἐστιν χάρις ὅτι οὐδεμία ἐστὶν πρό λημψις ἡμῖνἡμεῖν γεγενημένη ἵναεἵνα δόξῃς ἄνευ νομίμων ἡμᾶς ἀπωθεῖσθαιἀποθεῖσθαι. καὶ νῦν οὖν εἰ μὴ πίθῃ καὶ τὴν χορηγί αν τῇ μητρὶ εὐγνωμόνωςεὐγνομώνως ἀποδίδοιςἀποδίδυς τὸ ἀκόλουθον τού των ἔσται καὶ μετάμελόν σοι πάλινπάλειν εἰσοίσει ἡ πλεονε ξία σου. μὴ γὰρ ὑπολάβῃς τὴν μητέραμητέραν σου περὶ τούτων ἠρεμεῖντρέμειν. ἔρρωσοἐρρωσσω.
