Μελάνιππος Ζήνωνι χαίρειν. Δημήτριος ὁ ἀποδιδοὺς τὴν ἐπιστολὴν ἀπεσταλ πρὸς Ἀπολλώνιον τὸν διοικητήν. καλῶς ἂν οὖν ποιήσαις, καθὸ ἄν σου χρείαν ἔχηι, παραδνιστωι καὶ φανερὸν αὐτῶι ποιή σας ὅτι γεγράφαμέν σοι περὶ αὐτοῦ. ἔστιν γάρ τι ἡμῖν καὶ πρὸς τὴν πόλιν καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν τὸν ἄνθρωπον χρήσιμον τὸν διοι κηθέντα ἀπελθεῖν. ἔρρωσο. ἔτους κθ, Μεσορὴ κδ. ἔτους κθ, Γορπιαίου κθ. Μελάνιππος ἵνα σπεύσηι περὶ Πτολεμαίου κε αὐτοῦ Ζήνωνι.
