οἱ τοῦ μοναστηρίου ἄπα Ἀγενίουνιου ἦλθονἦλθαν εὐχαριστοῦντες τῇ σῇ εὐδοκιμήσει· ἦλθονἦλθαν δὲ καὶ νῦν αἰτοῦντες αὐτὴν φροντίζεσθαι ἑαυτῶν καὶ τῶν πραγμάτων. καὶ τοῦτο μὲν ἠναγκάσθην γράψαι τῷ δεσπότῃ μου τῷ μεγαλοπρεπεστάτῳ κόμετι Ἀμμωνίῳ ἐν δὲτε τῷ τέωςτῷδετῷτε ὡς περί ελθε τὰ κτήματα καὶ διοίκησονδιοικησα αὐτά, ἤγουν ποίησον ἄνθρωπον ὑμέτερον τοῦτο πρᾶξαι. συμβάλλω γάρ σε κατὰ Θεόν, καὶ μάλιστα διὰ τὸν κοινὸν δεσπότην τὸν κόμετα Ἀμμώνιν. ἐπειδὴ δὲ εἷς γεωργὸς παρεκάλεσεν δύο νομίσματα διδόναι ὑπὲρ δέκα ἓξ ἀρταβῶναρταβας σίτου λοιπασθεισῶν παρʼ αὐτοῦ, θελήσῃ σου ἡ θαυμασιότης ταῦτα δέξασθαι, καὶ ἓν μὲν νόμισμα παρὰ τέσσαρα ἀποστεῖλαί μοι ὑπὲρ σιδήρου ἀγορασθέντος καὶ δοθέντος Στεφάνῳ τῷ στρατιώτῃ, τὸ δὲ ἄλλο ἔχειν ἢ εἰς λόγον δημοσίων ἢ εἰς τιμὴν καλάμων· καὶ ἁπλῶς εἰπεῖν, ἀντιποιήθητι τοῦ πράγματος ὡς ἰδίου. μέλλει γὰρ γράμματα καταλαβεῖν σε περὶ τούτου αὐτοῦ τοῦ εἰρημένου μεγαλοπρεπεστάτου ἀνδρος τῷ θαυμασιωτάτῳ Ἀπολλῶτι
