Εἰρηναῖος Ἀπολιναρίωι τῶι γλυ κυτάτωιτῶι φιλτάτωι ἀδελφῶι πολλὰ χαίρειν. καὶ διὰ παντὸς εὔχομαί σε ὑγιαίνεινὑγιένειν καὶ ἐγὼ αὐτὸς ὑγιαίνωὑγιένω. γινώσ κεινγινώσσκειν σε θέλω ὅτιὅτει εἰς γῆν ἐλήλυθα τῇ ϛ τοῦ Ἐπεὶφ μηνὸς καὶ ἐξεκενώσαμεν τῇ ιη τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνός. ἀνέβην δὲ εἰς Ῥώμην τῇ κε τοῦ αὐ τοῦ μηνὸς καὶ παρεδέξατο ἡ μᾶς ὁ τόπος ὡς ὁ θεὸς ἤθελεν, καὶ καθʼ ἡμέραν προσδεχόμε θα διμισωρίανδιμισσωρίαν ὥστε ἕως σήμερον μηδέναμηδέναν ἀπολε λύσθαι τῶν μετὰ σίτου. ἀσπάζομαι τὴν σύνβιόν σου πολλὰ καὶ Σερῆνον καὶ πάν ταςπάντες τοὺς φιλοῦντάς σε κατʼ ὄνο μα. ἔρρωσοερρωσθο Μεσορὴ θ. Ἀπολιναρίωι ἀπὸ Εἰρηναίου ἀδελφοῦ.Translations (1)
[Eirênaios] grüßt seinen geliebtesten Bruder [Apolinaris] herzlich. Ich wünsche, daß es dir stets gut gehen möge. Mir selbst geht es gut. Wisse, daß ich am 9. Epeiph ans Land kam und am 18. desselben Monats das Schiff auslud. Am 25. desselben Monats ging ich nach Rom hinauf und der Ort nahm uns auf, wie es Gottes Wille war. Aber Tag um Tag müssen wir auf das Entlassungsschreiben, so daß bis heute noch kein einziger von der Getreideleute aufgebrochen ist.
