Ὧρος Πεμενῆτι χαίρειν. Ἑριενοῦφις ὁ ὑοφορβὸς ἀπεχώρησεν ἐπὶ τὸν βωμὸν τοῦ βασιλέως, λέγων ὅτι οὐ μὴ βόσκω τὰς ὗς ἐὰν μή μοι τὸν μισθὸν ἀποδῶις τετραμή νου, λέγων ὅτι ναύτης εἰμί, οὐ θείς με μὴ δύνηται ἅψασθαι οὐ δὲ ἀναγκάσαι βόσκειν τὰς ὑμε τέρας ὗς. καλῶς ἂν οὖν ποιήσαις ἐντυχὼν Ζήνωνι καὶ εἴπας αὐ τῶι περὶ τοῦ ὀψωνίου ὅπως ἂν ἡμῖν ἀποστείληι ἵνα ἅν θρωπος μὴ ἀπέλθηι ἀλλὰ βόσκηι. γίνωσκε οὖν ὅτι προλέγω σοι ἵνα μή μοι ὕστερον ἐγκαλῆις. αἱ ὕες σοι ὧδε πεινῶσιν. πλείω οὖν ἐσ τιν τὰ ἀπολλύμενα τῶι λιμῶι καὶ ἀποθνήισκοντα ἢ ὅσα ὑπὸ τῆς νόσου ἀπόλλυται τῆς ἐμπιπτούσης εἰς τὰ ἱερεῖα. εἶπον οὖν Ζήνωνι ὅπως ἂν ἡ μῖν ἀποστείληι ἄλλο σῶμα ἵνα ἀπαγάγωμεν τὰ ἱερεῖα ἐπὶ τὸν ἄρακον. οὐ γὰρ ἱκανός ἐστιν ὁ εἷς βόσκειν ἐκεῖ ἱερεῖα ξ, ἀλ λὰ δύο ἔσονται ἱκανοί. ὧδε δὲ ἄλλος ἔσται πρὸς τοῖς λοιποῖς, οὔπω γὰρ δύναταιδυνανται τὰ λοιπὰ ἔσθειν ἄρακον. ἔρρωσο.
