Πέτρος ὁ προσφέρων τῇ σῇ ὁσιότητι ταῦτά μου τὰ γράμματα πρεσβύτερος τυγχάνων τοῦ ἁγίου μαρτυρίου ἄπα Φοιβάμμωνος δέεται τῶν ἀναγκαίων. οὐ γὰρ ἀπαρκεῖ ἡ πρόσοδος τῶν δύο ἀρουρῶν τοῦ μαρτυρίου πρὸς τους ν· εἰδὼς οὖν καὶ αὐτὸς τὸ φιλάνθρωπον καὶ φιλόπτωχον τῆς σῆς θεοσεβείας ᾔτησέν με γράμματα, ἵνα ἐμοῦ τὰ ἀληθῆταληθῆ μαρτυροῦντος μόνου ἀπὸ πολλῶν ἀπολαύσῃ τῆς σῆς ἐπικουρίας. οὐδὲν δὲ τὰ κατʼ αὐτὸν πράττουσιν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τῆς κώμης κε. παρακαλῶν δὲ τὴν θεοσέβειάν σου εὔξασθαι ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ, ἵνα καταξιωθῶ ἰδεῖν ὑμᾶς ης εἰμι προσαγόρευε τοὺς εὐλαβεστάτους ἀδελφοὺς πάντας οὓς ἐπιθυμῶ ἐπίδος τῷ θεοσεβεστάτῳ καὶ ἁγιωτάτῳ πατρὶ ῳ ἀρχιμανδρίτῃ παρὰ Φοιβάμμωνος πρεσβυτέρουTranslations (1)
Petros, der Deiner Heiligkeit dieses Schreiben überbringt und Presbyter des heiligen Martyriums des Apa Phoibammon ist, leidet Not. Die Einkünfte aus den zwei Aruren des Martyriums reichen nämlich nicht aus zum Lebensunterhalt. Da er nun auch selbst Deine Milde und Dein Mitleid mit den Armen kennt, bat er mich um ein Schreiben, damit er mit meinem Zeugnis des wahren Sachverhalts . . . in den Genuß Deiner Hilfe komme. Die Dorfältesten (kümmern sich?) nicht um seine Angelegenheiten und .. . Ich bitte Dich, für mich zu beten, damit ich gewürdigt werde, Euch zu sehen, (sobald?) ich ... bin.
