Αὐρήλιος Ζωΐλος Διογένει. ἐδεξάμην σου τὰ γράμματα τῇ β καὶ εὗρον αὐτὰ ιαθων τὴν μωρίαν. ἐγὼ μὲν ὑπηρετῶν ἐπιονειδίζομαι· οὔκ εἰμι ἀπονενοη μένος καὶ οὔκ εἰμι ἀναίσχυντος καὶ οὔκ εἰμι μῦς. σὺ φιλοπόνει τὰ γράμματά μου· μάθε οὖν ὅτι ἐ γὼ πεποίηκά μουπεποίηκʼ ἐμοῦ τὰ ἔτη ιδ, τὸ δὲ λοιπὸνλοιπὸν ὑπηρε τῶνὑπηρερετῶν τοὺς γονέας σου, καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἀναίσχυν τος καὶ οὐχ ὅμοιός σου ἐγενόμην οὐδὲ τῇ ἀδελ φῇ μου. οὐκ ἔδει σε ταῦτα πράττειν καὶ ἀπελ θεῖν ἐτῶν ιβιθ καὶ ἀπιχάζειν εἰς Κυνοπο λίτηνΚυνοπολείτην. ἐὰν δὲ πάντα ποιήσῃς, οὐ δύνασαί μεμαι δεῖραι. ὅτε γὰρ μικρὸςμεικρὸς ἤμην, ἐγὼ πάλιν ἔδε ρόν σε· ἄρτι λοιπόν,ἀνάπαλιν ἐδε ήθης σε ἆραι· λοιπὸν ὅτε νεανίσκος ἐγενά μην, μέλλειςμέλις με δεῖραι. ἐγενάμην σου λοιπὸν ἀνεχόμενος, οὐ μέλλω σε λοιπὸν ἀνέχε σθαι. μαρτυρήσω δὲ καὶ τῇ ἀδελφῇ μου Θαήσιδι, ἐὰν παραγένηται πρὸς ἐμὲ σὺν θεοῖς. ἔτους ε Χοίακ γ. ἐδόκουν γὰρ ὅτι μέλλειςμέλλις με φιλοστοργεῖν· ὅτʼ ἐκεκινδυ νεύκει ἡ μήτηρ μου, εὗρον ὅτι, ἐὰν γένηται αὐτὴ μετὰ ἑκατὸν ἔτη, ἔμελλές με αθως ἐκβαλεῖν πρὸς τῇ θύρᾳ τῷ ἀδελφῷ Διογένει ἀπὸ Αὐρηλίου Ζωΐλου
