Ἀρτεμίδωρος Πανακέστορι χαίρειν. παραγινομένου μου ἐκἐγ Βουβάστου εἰς Μέμφιν ἐνετέλλετο Ἀπολλώνιος μάλιστα μὲν αὐτὸν διελθεῖν πρὸς σέ, εἰ δὲ μή, ἀποστεῖλαί τινα παρʼ ἐμοῦ ὃς ἀναγγελεῖ σοι τὰ παρʼ αὐτοῦ. ἠκηκόει γὰρ ὅτι οὐ πᾶσα κατασπείρεται ἡ γῆ αἱ μύριαι ἄρουραι. συνέτασσεν οὖν ἀναγγέλλειν σοι ἵνα ξυλοκοπηθῆι πᾶσα καὶ ποτισθῆι καὶ μάλιστα μὲν ὅπως κατασπείρητε πᾶσαν αὐτήν, εἰ δὲ μή, ὅσην ἂν μὴ δύνηι σπείρειν. σησαμοσπορευθῆι καὶ μὴ ἀργήσηι μέρος μηθὲν τῆς γῆς. ἐπεὶ οὖν αὐτὸς οὐ δεδύνημαι παραγενέσθαι διὰ τὸ ἐνωχλῆσθαι, γράψας ἀπέσταλκα πρὸς σέ, ἵνα εἰδῆις καὶ ποιῆις οὕτως. συνέτασσε γὰρ μισθοῦσθαι καὶ ἐμβάλλειν ἀθρόους τοὺς σπεροῦντας σκαλιδευτὰς καὶ τοὺς ὑπουργήσοντας τούτοις. ἕως οὖν ἔτι ὥρα ἐστὶν σπείρειν, ποιεῖτε οὕτως. ἀνήγγελκα δὲ καὶ Ζήνωνι καὶ Ἀρτεμιδώρωι τῶι ἐνἐμ Μέμφει, καθότι μοι Ἀπολλώνιος ἐνετείλατο, ἵνα χορηγῶσιν ὑμῖν χαλκόν, ὅσου ἂν χρείαν ἔχητε εἰς ταῦτα. λαμβάνετε οὖν· δοθήσεται γὰρ ὑμῖν. ἔφασαν δὲ καὶ νυν Μάρωνι δραχμ α. ἔρρωσο. ἔτους κθ, Ἀπελλαίου β. εἰς Φιλαδέλφειαν. Πανακέστορι. ἔτους κθ, Ἁθὺρ θ. Ἀρτεμίδωρος.
