Αὐρήλιοι Πτολλᾶς καὶ Ἀτῖσις σιτολόγοι ἤτεἤται ἀπαιτηταὶ κωμητῶνκωμωμητῶν κώμης Καρανίδος Αὐρηλίῳ Ἀντιοῦρι Πτολλᾶ χαίρεινχέριν. ἔσχον παρά σου ὑπὲρ δεκάτης ι ἰνδικτίονοςἰντικτίονος ὑπὲρ ναύλωνναῦλα θαλασσίωνθαλασίον τάλαντα πεντή κοντα ἓξ τάλαντα νϛ μόναμώνα. Αὐρήλιος Μέλας ἔγραψα ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ ἀγραμμάτου.

Aurelii Ptollas and Atisis, sitologoi likewise apaitetai of the villagers of the village of Karanis, to Aurelius Antiouris son of Ptollas, greeting. I have received from you for (your obligation of) the tenth (10th) indiction for sea freight, fifty-six talents (tal. 56), total. (2nd hand) I, Aurelius Melas, wrote for him because he is illiterate.
