ἔμαθον ὅτι ὁ ἐμὸς δεσπότης συνήθως συγκροτήσας τῆς ἐμῆς εὐτελείας καὶ ἐλάλησεν τα χάριν τοῦ ἐμοῦ πράγματος καὶ οὐχοὐκ εὑρισκ ἐποίησέν μοι ὁ ἐμὸς δεσπότης, εἰ μὴ τὴν ἀγαθὴν ζωὴν τοῦ ἐμοῦ δεσπότου ἀνάστασιν ἐκτελε ἐπικαλοῦμαι τὸν δεσπότην Θεὸν ἡμέρας ἀπρόϊτος ἐπεὶ πεζὸς εἶχον ἐλθεῖν κον δεσπότην. ἀπέστειλα δὲ εἰς ὑπηρεσίαν τῶν συνδούλων μου μαρια καὶ παρακαλῶ ὕβρεως χωρὶς κελεῦσαι ταῦτα δεχθῆναι ἰδίου δούλου τῷ ἐμῷ δεσπότῃ τῷ ἐνδοξοτάτῳ ἰλλουστρίῳ Μακάρις ὑμέτερος δοῦλοςTranslations (1)
I have learned that my master, having customarily assembled in my lowly presence, spoke on behalf of my matter and did not find and act for me. If only the good life of my master’s resurrection were accomplished, I call upon the master God, unyielding by day, since I had to come on foot under my master. I have sent into service my fellow servants Maria and I implore without any insolence to order these things to be accepted from his own slave to my most glorious illustrious master, Makaris, your servant.
